Looks like the HalloWINE run is ON for in-person this year! I did this run three years ago and wanted to share my thoughts. This year’s run sign-up: HalloWINE 5K

It does look like participation may be limited this year(?)

To sum this run up: Running, Costumes, Wine, Appetizers. The run itself was 5k (kind of, I don’t think the measurement was exact and there was no chip timing when I ran it in 2019). The run starts at the East end of the mall on the promenade. You run along the outside of the mall, go across the mall in the middle, then run up the other side of the mall, up a slight hill.

Overall the course is pretty fast and flat. The temperature is usually nice, also. A cool run for a change!

I have to admit, it is just downright fun to run along with people in costumes. Not as big as the Fiesta Fandango or anything, but still a load of fun.

If this year follows along with prior years, after the run is basically a large party, in the morning, in La Cantera. The central avenue is closed off. There are about 20 vendors setup for wine sampling, food sampling, and other products. Makes for a pleasant morning!

I am a middle of the pack runner that loves getting off the pavement and out on the trails. Got into running mainly for Triathlons, and love finding new places to swim too!
